Il est des projets musicaux qui restent gravés dans nos mémoires pour longtemps, voire éternellement... The Green Love Experiment en fait partie. D'un concert mémorable en catimini au Sloppy Joe de Reims (avis aux connaisseurs), à une première partie tonitruante de Chevreuil, le duo rémois a laissé quelques souvenirs impérissables. C'est avec une grande joie que nous vous proposons aujourd'hui une compilation de leurs titres, en ordre quasi-chronologique (Master-Girl étant un de leur premiers morceaux). Green Love, c'est TomP et TomW (aujourd'hui ThOmas.W), qui, après l'expérience Shiver; se sont alliés pour créer ce son si particulier, entre cold wave et post-rock, qui ne vous laissera pas indifférent. Some musical projects remain stuck in our memories for a long time, even forever... The Green Love Experiment is one of them. From a memorable secret gig at the Sloppy Joe in Reims (connoisseurs know where it was), to a thundering concert supporting Chevreuil, the Reims duet has left some lifelong memories. We are so pleased to offer you today a compilation of their tracks, in an almost chronological order (Master-Girl being one of their earliest tracks). Green Love is TomP and TomW (aka ThOmas.W now), who, after the Shiver project, have got together to create this particular sound, between clod wave and post-rock. mh.t038 - Borgesss - Terrified of Everything

This is the kind of news we really love at myhand! Borgesss, aka Paula Borges, aka "Hell, yeah! Paula from Hangin Freud!", offers us a delightful lo-fi EP entitled "Terrified of Everything." Four absolutely great tracks, demo-style, recorded on a 4-track cassette recorder. "Snake" opens the EP, insidiously crawling into our head, and soon, the venom invades us, and we're hooked!
"Born Again" is breathtaking, a melodious loop that leaves you speechless... but not for a long time, because the "Queen" emerges suddenly, rock'n'rolling desperately, playing a saturated guitar, haunting us with her beautiful but scary voice. "We spit" closes the EP like a nightmare we don't want to be over, we're terrified, but we have never felt so good...

C'est tout à fait le genre de nouvelle que l'on adore chez myhand! Borgess, aka Paula Borges, aka "Oh oui! C'est Paula de Hangin Freud!", nous offre ce délicieux EP lo-fi intitulé "Terrified of Everything." Il s'agit de quatre titres absolument superbes, sous forme de démos, enregistrés sur un 4 pistes cassette. "Snake" ouvre l'EP, rampant insidieusement dans notre tête, et rapidement, le venin nous envahit, et nous sommes accros! "Born again" est à couper le souffle, une boucle mélodieuse qui vous laisse bouche bée... mais pour un bref instant, car soudain, la "Queen" surgit, dans un rock désespéré, jouant une guitare saturée, nous hantant de sa belle et effrayante voix. "We spit" referme le maxi comme un cauchemar que l'on ne veut pas quitter, nous sommes terrifiés, mais nous ne nous sommes jamais sentis aussi bien...

mh.t037 - DRUNkENC - RED

DRUNkENC est de retour! 3 ans après "Whisper" (toujours disponible ICI), Cécile nous livre sept titres magnifiques dans un mini-album intitulé "RED". Une fois de plus, elle nous emmène loin, très loin, mais on n'est jamais perdu car DRUNkENC nous rappelle toujours notre chemin, tantôt avec une ligne de basse hypnotique ("Melody in my ears") comme elle seule en a le secret, tantôt avec une distortion noisy ("Red") qui évoque des références bien ancrées dans nos mémoires. On retrouve Polly Jean, on se remémore les débuts de Hole, les chuchotements de Kim Gordon, mais surtout cette atmosphère parfois brûlante puis glaçante... Certains titres sonnent comme une incantation ("My trouble"), une complainte ("Wanna be alone") voire une injonction ("Lovers of the past")... C'est certainement l'une des claques de cette année 2015!

DRUNkENC is back! 3 years after "Whisper" (which is still available HERE), Cécile releases 7 magnificent tracks in a mini-album entitled "RED". Once again, she takes us far, far away, but we never fell lost because DRUNkENC always reminds us the way, either with a hypnotical bass line ("Melody in my ears") of which only she has the secret, or with a noisy feedback ("Red") that brings back to mind some references fixed in our memories. We bump into Polly Jean, remember Hole's first songs, Kim Gordon's whispering, but above all, we find this weird atmosphere, burning and chilling... Some tracks sound like an incantation ("My trouble"), a lament ("Wanna be alone") or even an injunction ("Lovers of the past")... A must listen for 2015!

Myhand.thanx Records is really happy to welcome a newcomer in our big DIY / homemade musicians family! December Nightskies is a dark ambient music project by Kendal Keeler, a prolific artist from Oklahoma, USA. "Noise Cloud" is a complete experimental record, a great global approach to Kendal's huge work. Indeed, after listening to these tracks, to these twisted soundscapes, these atmospheric collages, you will have to go further and deeper into this strange universe!
Kendal Keeler also works under other names, such as Shadows on the Snow (a project with Venus Vulture) or Something Like Squids.

December Nightskies est le projet dark ambient de Kendal Keeler, un artiste prolifique d'Oklahoma, USA. Voilà une belle surprise à l'approche de l'hiver et des jours qui raccourcissent, du froid qui s'installe et du soleil qui s'éloigne! Un nouvel album de Wystan Whitman! "Science of knock knock people" est une merveilleuse suite à "Instead of gun shopping" sorti il y a presque un an sur myhand.thanx (ICI!), 13 titres captivants, empreints d'une lo-fi qui réveille de bons souvenirs (les premiers Palace Brothers, ou encore Cat Power). Wystan Whitman nous raconte avec simplicité et puissance des histoires personnelles, à la manière d'un bon vieux bluesman, au coin d'une table, dans l'obscurité d'un bar... C'est touchant et réconfortant. Une mention spéciale pour "Le blues pour mon père", bel hommage familial (et cycliste!) en français, et le dernier titre "Almost Children", magnifique coda pour un album somptueux!

Here's a beautiful surprise for us who see winter coming closer, the days getting shorter, the cold growing colder and sun fading away... a brand new Wystan Whitman album! "Science of knock knock people" is a marvellous follow-up to "Instead of gun shopping" released almost a year ago on myhaand.thanx (HERE!), 13 captivating tracks, tinged with a lo-fi that digs up great memories (the first Palace Brothers albums, or even Cat Power's early songs). Wystan Whitman tells us with simplicity and power personal stories, as a good ol' bluesman would do, at the corner of a table, in the darkness of a bar... It is moving and comforting. Our favorites are "Le blues pour mon père" which is a beautiful family (and cycle!) tribute, and the last track "Almost Children", a wonderful coda for a sumptuous album!

Here are 3 mixes from the Mutant Beatniks series! They're called "Resonance of Strong White Light," "Dark Noir of Fused Ember," and "Roj is Back in the Fold." "Resonance" and "Roj" are 12-minute mixes flirting with industrial noises, static, and ambient. "Dark Noir" takes us into a 16-minute trip into concrete (music), hardcore and fear... As usual, with the MB mixes, you just have to let go, and feel...

Voici 3 mixes de la série Mutant Beatniks! "Resonance of Strong White Light" and "Roj is Back in the Fold" sont des mixes de 12 minutes flirtant avec les bruits industriels, les parasites et l'ambient. "Dark Noir of Fused Ember" nous emmène dans un trip de 16 minutes dans le ciment, le hardcore et la peur... Comme d'habitude avec les mixes de MB, il suffit de se laisser aller, et de ressentir...

mh.t019 - ThOmas.W - MEMORIES OF A DOG

ThOmas.W is back with a brand new album, more than one year after "Stories left to tell." New songs, new stories told with lots of irony and commitment. The solo artist offers a sort of modern cold wave, apparently influenced by drone music as well as 21st century r'n'b... Strange mix but the result is more than convincing. The 11-minute opening track "PlastiK yOuth" reflects the multi-directional tone of the album, loops, rhythm, noise, harmonics, and a few words. Then, the songs melt into one another, like many different versions of a single idea : how to cope with frustration?

ThOmas.W revient avec un tout nouvel album, un peu plus d'un an après "Stories left to tell." De nouveaux morceaux, de nouvelles histoires racontées avec beaucoup d'ironie et d'engagement. L'artiste solo nous propose une sorte de cold wave moderne, apparemment autant influencée par le drone que par le r'n'b des années 2000... Un mélange étrange, mais le résultat est plus que convaincant. Le morceau d'ouverture de 11 minutes "PlastiK yOuth" reflète la tonalité multi-directionnelle de l'album, boucles, rythme, bruit, harmoniques et quelques mots. Puis, les morceaux se fondent les uns dans les autres, comme plusieurs versions différentes d'un seule idée : Que faire de sa frustration?

Ph.G... drôle de pseudonyme derrière lequel se cache Pier, et quelques autres amis (Vinsh, Tow...) qui se sont souvent retrouvés à ne savoir que faire de leur temps libre dans les années 90... Car c'est en fait une compilation de leurs créations musicales spontanées que vous propose ici myhand.thanx records. On entend encore les craquements de la bande magnétique et aussi la poussière qui s'y est déposée au fil des années. Du pur DIY, de la musique bout de ficelle, mais toujours faite avec réflexion et maîtrise! On aime particulièrement "I want to live in the wood" qui rappelle Jesus and Mary Chain, mais aussi "Tintin, Haddock et Milou" qui pourrait bien être l'influence principale de Katerine sans même qu'il le sache....!
Ph.G... a funny pseudonym behind which is hidden Pier, and some other friends (Vinsh, Tow...) who often found themselves bored and wondering what to do during their free time in the 90s... Indeed, myhand.thanx records offers here a compilation of their spontaneous musical creations. We can still hear the crackling of the magnetic tape and also the dust which appeared throughout the years. Pure DIY music, but always made with reflexion and mastery! We particularly love "I want to live in the wood" which reminds us of the Jesus and Mary Chain, but also "Tintin, Haddock et Milou" which could be the main influence of Katerine (even if he doesn't know it!)
