Après de longues années d'attente, Hanging Freud nous revient avec un magnifique EP intitulé "No Body Allowed" et qui nous prend aux tripes! Le duo de Paula et Jonathan nous propose 7 titres hypnotiques, profonds et touchants. "PWM" nous plonge sans ménagement dans l'univers si particulier de "No Body Allowed", puis "Toadboy" et "It's time" nous confirment qu'Hanging Freud est définitivement un projet sans compromis, et que depuis "Sunken", sorti en 2009, leur musique radicale n'a pas pris une ride. Chaque titre sonne comme une injonction, une prémonition, une incantation. On est forcément embarqué, et les visions s'enchaînent. "Share the love" est désormais en boucle dans nos têtes, "Well, jump in" nous réveille en pleine nuit, comme un cauchemar dans lequel nous voudrions replonger immédiatement. "Porch" (qui était apparu il y a quelques temps sur le soundcloud du groupe) nous appaise, pour finalement laisser place a "Hand drop", final absolument fabuleux, au rythme entêtant, à l'atmosphère à la fois oppressante et aérienne, et cette voix...

After long years of waiting, Hanging Freud is back with a beautiful EP entitled "No Body allowed" that hits you in the guts! Paula and Jonathan's duet offers us 7 tracks that are hypnotic, deep and moving. "PWM" makes us dive without warning into this so particular world of "No Body Allowed", then "Toadboy" and "It's time" confirm the fact that Hanging Freud is definitely an uncompromised/uncompromising project, and that since "Sunken", released in 2009, their radicale music hasn't aged at all. Each tracks sounds like an injunction, a premonition, an incantation. We are taken away, and visions multiply. "Share the love" is now a loop in our heads, "Well, jump in" wakes us up in the middle of the night, like a nightmare in which we wish to dive back immediately. "Porch" (which surfaced some time ago on the band's soundcloud) calms us down, to finally give birth to "Hand drop", an absolutely marvellous finale, with an uplifting rhythm, an oppressing and aerial mood, and this voice...

mh.t039 - We Are All Slaves - You Must Be Stuck Into Some Complications

We Are All Slaves is a really cool project by Filip Stojiljkovic, a Serbian experimental artist. He started this noise/dark/ambient project at the age of 17, using a laptop, toys a singstar microphone, making every unsettling noise he could. "Chaos" and "mayhem"are words he likes to use when talking about WAAS... Here, at myhand.thanx records, we have been struck by the nerve of this guy! the opening title "Fucked Up and Boring" is insane, raw and as noisy as can be! The following tracks are just like knives stabbing your ears, sometimes violently, some other times slowly... It's at the same time straightforward and insidious, and always uncompromising. The closing track is a 10-minute ode to Sylvia Likens, who died a painful death in the 60's. Knowing the facts, the track takes a deeper dimension, totally disturbing and also moving. WAAS is radical, experimental and paradoxical. Download it, experience it.

Myhand.thanx Records is really happy to welcome a newcomer in our big DIY / homemade musicians family! December Nightskies is a dark ambient music project by Kendal Keeler, a prolific artist from Oklahoma, USA. "Noise Cloud" is a complete experimental record, a great global approach to Kendal's huge work. Indeed, after listening to these tracks, to these twisted soundscapes, these atmospheric collages, you will have to go further and deeper into this strange universe!
Kendal Keeler also works under other names, such as Shadows on the Snow (a project with Venus Vulture) or Something Like Squids.

December Nightskies est le projet dark ambient de Kendal Keeler, un artiste prolifique d'Oklahoma, USA. "Noise Cloud" est un album totalement expérimental, une très bonne approche globale de l'immense travail de Kendal. En effet, après avoir écouté ces morceaux, ces paysages sonores tordus, ces collages atmosphériques, vous n'aurez qu'une envie, aller encore plus loin dans cet étrange univers!

mh.t022 - Jeremy Gluck - Love Is Awake In Me Like Water (EP)

It is a real honour for myhand.thanx records to release this beautiful EP for two reasons : first, the tracks are awesome, strange collages, noisy bits added to melodies and cinematographic references. Second, Jeremy Gluck is part of a certain History of music that many of us listen of have listened to... He started his career with The Barracudas, whose album "Drop Out" is considered seminal. In 1986, he released his first solo album "I knew Buffalo Bill" with Nikki Sudden and Epic Soundtrack. Goddess of rock Lydia Lunch covered his track "Burning Skulls Rise"... Jeremy also worked with Mick Harvey and Eric Debris. IN 2008, he released "Victim of Dreams."
Jeremy's work is now more focused on ambient / experimental music, spoken word and sound poetry, without forgetting or going too far away from rock'n'roll.
The "Love Is Awake In Me Like Water" EP confirms this artistic orientation. Gluck pays homage to Terence Malick's "The Thin Red Line" film about the Guadalcanal carnage. Mixes 1 and 2 are Jeremy's work on sounds, words, soundscapes and shapes. Mixes 3 and 4 are Slave Labour's remixes, and they're stunning, and groovy.

C'est un véritable honneur pour myhand.thanx records de sortir ce bel EP pour deux raisons : Premièrement, les morceaux sont de magnifiques et étranges collages, des parties bruitistes mélangées aux mélodies et aux références cinématographiques. Deuxièmement, Jeremy Gluck fait partie d'une certaine Histoire de la musique, musique que nombre d'entre nous écoute ou a écouté... Il a commencé sa carrière avec The Barracudas, dont le premier album Drop Out est considéré comme un album phare de la scène rock (70s-80s). Les morceaux 1 et 2 sont le fruit du travail de Gluck sur les mots, sons, les paysages et formes sonores. Les morceaux 3 et 4 sont des remixes de Slave Labour, étonnants et groovy!

mh.t005 - Jacques De Villiers - Sleep Songs

Sud-Africain, Jacques est un pianiste et manipulateur de sons qui tente d'allier mélodie et bruit en créant un état musical où la frontière entre les deux se désagrège et chacun se retrouve lié à l'autre inexorablement... Travaillant seul, De Villiers élabore des paysages sonores langoureux, des peintures de sons mélancoliques. Son but principal est de rendre le bruit plus accessible et de présenter la mélodie de façon plus expérimentale.

A South African pianist and sound manipulator, who attempts to merge a meeting point between melody and noise, creating a musical state where the line between the two disintegrates and both elements are melt together inseparably. Working on his own, De Villiers constructs dreamy soundscapes and melancholy washes of sounds. His overall aim is to make noise more accessible and the presentation of melody more experimental.
